In Southern and Mid Staffordshire, six councils (including Lichfield District Council) are exploring plans to create a new, single council that would deliver all your local services: from bin collections and street cleaning to schools, roads, and care services.
We are exploring the best options and will continue to work on a preferred proposal prior to final submissions in November 2025 that delivers on the government’s criteria, whilst also meeting our guiding principles.
No final decision has been made yet.
We are now asking local people to tell us what’s important to you before any decisions are taken. We want to know:
- What local services matter most to you?
- What should a new council do differently?
- How can we make sure your community is represented and supported?
Your feedback will help us shape the proposals we present to government later this year.
