We are committed to supporting people facing homelessness to find safe, short-term accommodation while we help them secure a more permanent home - this could include providing accommodation or advice and guidance to help you find somewhere to stay.
If we have reason to believe, based on the supporting information you provide, that you are homeless, eligible for assistance, have priority need, are not homeless intentionally and have a local connection, you may be eligible for interim or temporary accommodation.
If you are eligible, the accommodation we will offer you will range from our own temporary accommodation, through to properties managed by our partner Bromford, or rooms in hotels and B&Bs that offer good value for money and have agreed to work with us to support vulnerable individuals and families.
- The accommodation we offer is selected based on availability, suitability, and cost-effectiveness and could include:
- Council owned temporary accommodation
- Bromford owned temporary accommodation
- Hotel/B&B accommodation (this is often offered as a short-term emergency solution and you may be offered longer term more suitable temporary accommodation at a later date, depending on your circumstances)
- The hotels/B&Bs we work with are generally located outside of Lichfield city centre and are sometimes outside of the district altogether - this allows us to provide interim and temporary accommodation, especially during periods of high demand.
- City centre/tourist hotels are only ever used as a last resort when there is no appropriate availability elsewhere - for example if we need wheelchair accommodation that is not available elsewhere. We do not have arrangements in place with high-end or commercial hotels located in central Lichfield.
