Jobs at the council

We are one of the largest employers in Lichfield District, employing around 500 people in a range of full, part-time and temporary posts.

We also have some jobs where people work on a casual basis. We believe our employees are our most valuable asset.

We publish our job vacancies on the West Midlands Job system. The system also allows you to apply on line and save your application, so you can apply for multiple jobs really easily.

Training and learning for work

If you're finding it difficult to get work, getting extra training can help. The links below have training related information on the GOV.UK website.

If you want to get training, but find cost is a barrier, a career development loan may be the answer - visit the Career Development Loan section of the GOV.UK website to find out more.

We also offer community training at the Old Mining College Centre in Chasetown.

Jobseeker's allowance

If you are not working or working fewer than 16 hours a week (on average), available for work, actively seeking work and capable of working, then you could be eligible for jobseeker's allowance.
