Local plan examination

At a meeting of full council on 17 October 2023, Lichfield District Council made the decision to withdraw its proposed local plan 2040.

The withdrawal of the local plan 2040 will not affect the adopted local plan for the district which will remain in place and guide planning decisions.

In response to the withdrawal the inspectors have written to the Council.

Notification to those bodies set out under Regulation 27(b) The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012

In accordance with Section 22(1) Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and Regulation 27(a) Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012, Lichfield District Council hereby gives notice that it has withdrawn the proposed submission version of its local plan, which had been submitted to the Secretary of State for Examination on 30th June 2022.

The resolution to withdraw the proposed submission version of the local plan was made at a full council meeting held on the 17th October 2023.

The resolution to withdraw was made under the provisions of Section 22 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, which states that a localplanning authority may withdraw a local development document at any time before its adoption.
