We are pleased to announce that the much-loved annual fun day at Beacon Park will take place on Wednesday 6 August.
This free entry event, which runs from 11am to 3pm, promises fun for the whole community and is open to everyone, with no booking required.
Families, friends and visitors are invited to enjoy a wide range of activities designed to entertain and engage all ages. The programme includes the ever-popular teddy bear races, where children are encouraged to bring their favourite teddy bear to take part (they can borrow one on the day if needed).
The barefoot walk offers a unique opportunity to explore textures and nature in a safe, sensory trail through the park, face painting and creative activities including crafting are planned and police, fire and air ambulance service vehicles will be on display.
Local community groups and organisations are also hosting stalls at the event and a dedicated food zone will be in place together with a fairground ride.
Councillor Phil Whitehouse, Cabinet Member for Operational Services, Parks and Waste, said:
“The annual fun day at Beacon Park is a highlight in our community events calendar. It’s a fantastic opportunity for people of all ages to come together and enjoy a day of entertainment and discovery in our beautiful park.
“Admission is free and there is a mixture of free and paid for activities. There is no need to book a place so come along and join in on the day.”
