A van caught on camera fly-tipping in Stonnall was seized by our Environmental Protection officers.
Officers identified Whitacre Lane as a fly-tipping hot spot and installed an authorised covert CCTV camera.
In November 2025, a fly-tipping incident was captured on camera, including footage of a Ford Transit van and its registration number.
Following an investigation, the van involved was located and seized on 23 April 2026 in Prince Street, Walsall, using statutory powers under Section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Although the offence took place within Lichfield District, the vehicle was later found and seized in Walsall.
The registered keeper was identified as responsible for the offence and was issued with a £1,000 fixed penalty notice, which has since been paid.
Councillor Richard Cox, Cabinet Member for Community and Public Protection, said:
“Lichfield District Council will not tolerate fly-tipping. It damages the environment and places an unfair burden on taxpayers.
“Our officers will investigate every reported incident and take action against those responsible.”
