Nominations are now open for the Beacon Awards 2026, celebrating the businesses, organisations and people making a difference across Lichfield District.

Organised by Lichfield District Council, the awards shine a spotlight on the people behind the district’s thriving business community – from independent businesses and growing enterprises to visitor attractions, hospitality venues, community-focused organisations and inspiring individuals.

Entries are now open until 16 October 2026, with businesses and organisations across the district encouraged to nominate themselves and showcase their achievements over the past year.

The awards return following a record-breaking 2025, which saw nominations increase by 68% compared with the previous year, before almost 250 guests came together for a sell-out celebration.

Last year saw businesses and organisations from across the district recognised, with winners including Lichfield Garrick Theatre, The Boat and Lichfield Maize Maze.

The Beacon Awards return for 2026 with categories designed to recognise businesses and organisations of different sizes and sectors, as well as the individuals helping to drive their success.

Councillor Richard Holland, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for High Street & Economic Development, said:

“The Beacon Awards are all about celebrating the brilliant businesses, organisations and people we have across Lichfield District and giving them the recognition they deserve.

“Last year we had a record response and a sell-out awards evening, with businesses of all shapes and sizes recognised for everything from growth and customer service to sustainability and their contribution to our communities.

“We know there are many more great stories to tell across our district, so I’d encourage businesses not to be shy about putting themselves forward. Whether you’ve grown, tried something new, supported your community, delivered brilliant service or simply had a year you’re really proud of, we want to hear about it.

“Entering is an opportunity to celebrate what you and your team have achieved and hopefully inspire others by sharing some of the fantastic work happening across Lichfield District.”

Following the entry period, submissions will be considered by an independent judging panel made up of representatives from businesses and organisations across the district and wider region.

Finalists will then be invited to the Beacon Awards ceremony at the National Memorial Arboretum on Thursday 3 December 2026, bringing together 250 guests from across the district for an evening celebrating local business and achievement.

Entries for the Beacon Awards 2026 are open now and close on 16 October 2026.
