Lichfield District Council has today (Tuesday, 10 September) launched a review of polling districts, polling places and polling stations used for Parliamentary and local elections and is appealing to residents for their views on suggested changes.
The review considers factors such as ease of access, location within the polling district, booking availability, facilities, and the number of voters each station can serve.
The suggested changes are available to view online now where there is also a form for residents to comment or suggest other places that may be better suited as their place/polling station.
Printed copies of the proposals and survey are also available in Reception at District Council House in Frog Lane. Alternatively, comments can be submitted by email at elections@lichfielddc.gov.uk or by post to Electoral Services, Lichfield District Council, Frog Lane, Lichfield, Staffordshire, WS13 6YY.
The Electoral Commission requires the district council to conduct this review every five years. The last was completed in 2019 and the next must be completed by 31 January 2025.
The six-week consultation ends on 22 October 2024. To give your views on the polling station review online please visit the review web page.
