Countryside and Parks Conservation Group (CPCG)

Join our friendly team of volunteers who roll up their sleeves twice a month to take part in important conservation work.  Tasks include footpath creation, scrub clearance and hedge-laying.

  • First and third Wednesday of each month (No sessions in August & Only first Wednesday in December)
  • 10.30am-3pm
  • Various sites around the district

Neaten and Natter Groups

Our volunteer group is a great way to meet new people and help keep our Parks looking at its best. Tasks include litter picking, weeding and more. We’ll provide all the equipment.

Beacon Park:

  • On the first Tuesday of the month (weather permitting)
  • 1pm – 3pm

Burntwood Park (March - September):

  • On the second Tuesday of the month (weather permitting)
  • 1.30pm – 3pm

Dawdle and Do

Join our team to take part in a slow walk around Beacon Park followed by crafts or a board game and refreshments in the Discovery Hub. 

  • Weekly on a Wednesday
  • 10am – 12pm
  • Meet in Beacon Park by the Greenhough Road car park entrance
