Charges at household waste recycling centres
Staffordshire County Council charges for certain non-household waste at all the tips across the county.
It is not a statutory duty for the sites to take household waste that isn’t produced in the normal day-to-day occupation of a home. For example, waste from DIY or garden work is not legally regarded as normal household rubbish.
As a result Staffordshire County Council charge for the disposal of some DIY type waste, including soil and rubble, plasterboard and tyres. The charges contribute to the cost of disposing of the materials.
