We are responsible for removing or covering graffiti on district council owned buildings/property. We we will also remove/cover offensive graffiti (e.g. racist, sexual or abusive) on privately owned buildings/property (with the owner’s consent).
If the graffiti you are reporting is:
- offensive and on district council buildings/property, our team will visit to either cover it up or remove it as soon as possible, and normally by the next working day.
- offensive and on privately owned buildings/property, it may take us slightly longer, as we have to get the land/property owner’s permission first.
- not offensive and on district council buildings/property, our team will visit to either cover it up or remove it as soon as possible.
We may also report the graffiti to our enforcement team, so they can investigate and where appropriate take legal action to prevent it from happening again.
Any non-offensive graffiti on private buildings/property is responsibility of the owner/utility company to remove.
