Developers on site at a building site

As well as bringing new local homes and business premises to the district, new developments boost the local area in lots of other ways – from supporting new infrastructure such as roads and schools, through to funding local projects and priorities.

There are two ways local developments fund local infrastructure and initiatives – community infrastructure levy (CIL) payments and section 106 (S106) agreements that are secured through the planning process.

To find out more, download our updated infrastructure funding statement that sets out how local developments boosted the district in 2023/2024.

This is section is updated every winter for the previous financial year.
