The Shenstone neighbourhood plan was made on 13 December 2016.
Final decision statement
On 13 December 2016, our full council agreed to make the Shenstone neighbourhood plan, which now forms a part of the development plan for Lichfield District. As required by the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations a decision statement has been published.
The referendum for the Shenstone neighbourhood plan took place on Thursday 17 November 2016. 88.7% of people who voted, voted in favour of the neighbourhood plan. Download the Shenstone neighbourhood plan declaration of result of poll.
The neighbourhood plan was independently examined in 2015 and the examiner recommended that subject to some modifications the plan should proceed to referendum. We agreed with the examiner’s report and voted to progress the plan to referendum at the cabinet meeting on 6 September 2016.

On 6 September 2016, our cabinet agreed to proceed to referendum on the draft Shenstone neighbourhood plan. As is required by the neighbourhood planning regulations a decision statement has been published. Further information on the arrangements for the referendum will follow in the near future.
The Shenstone neighbourhood plan was independently examined by Ms Deborah McCann in December 2015 to April 2016. The independent examiner's report is now available.
Shenstone Parish Council have now submitted the Shenstone neighbourhood plan to us. In accordance with section 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, we have consulted on the neighbourhood plan. The consultation period ran for six weeks and closed on Friday 20 November 2015.
A pre-submission draft version of the document underwent consultation between November 2014 and January 2015. This consultation was undertaken by Shenstone Parish Council (for more information see the section on pre-submission consultation below).

It is our responsibility to collate all the representations and pass them onto the independent examiner, who will look at them and the plan documents when assessing whether the plan meets the basic conditions and can therefore proceed to referendum.

Shenstone Parish Council have completed the draft of their neighbourhood plan and recently undertook the six week pre-submission consultation required by the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012. The consultation closed on Sunday 14 December 2014. The document can be viewed by the following link.
