Self-build and custom build homes
Through the Self-build and Custom Housebuilding Act 2015 we are required to maintain a register of people seeking to acquire land to build a home for themselves, as the government is keen to promote self and custom building as a means of increasing the overall number of dwellings and encouraging the growth of the custom build sector.
Self-build usually means you are directly involved in organising the design and construction of your new home. Custom build usually means working with a specialist developer to help you deliver your home.
We are trying to understand what the demand for self and custom build housing is within Lichfield District so we can assess the demand when preparing housing and planning policies.
If you would like to register your interest as an individual or as a group of individuals please download the application form and either email it to firstname.lastname@example.org or alternatively post it to: Spatial Policy and Delivery, Development Services, Lichfield District Council, District Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield, Staffordshire, WS13 6YZ.
If you would like more information the self-build portal is a government endorsed website: www.selfbuildportal.org.uk
