How to upload your evidence

Uploading your evidence online will help to speed up the processing of your application.

You can upload your evidence when you reach the final application checks by clicking ‘upload evidence’. You must do this before you click ‘submit my claim’ otherwise you will not be able to attach evidence to your claim.

If you use a personal computer or a laptop, you can attach evidence if you are able to scan it to your machine and upload it from your desktop. If you use a tablet or smart phone, you can take a photograph of your evidence and upload each document.

When you click on ‘upload evidence’ you need to click ‘choose file’ to either select a file which is stored in your gallery/desktop or take a photograph of your document. When you have loaded the document, click into the drop down list of document types and select a description. If you have more than one document, click on ‘add another’ and repeat the above steps. You can do this as many times as you like until all of your documents are attached. When you are finished, click on ‘next' and you will be able to submit your claim.

If you can’t upload your evidence, please post it to:

Lichfield District Council, Frog Lane, Lichfield, WS13 6YY

If you send your documents in the post, please remember to pay the correct postage. We are unable to pay any additional postage costs and your documents will be returned to the post office. Please write your return address on the reverse of the envelope so that we can send your documents back to you safely.

If you are planning on visiting the offices, please be aware we operate an appointment only service between 12noon and 2pm, Monday - Friday. To see us between these times, you will need to make an appointment by calling 01543 308900.

As soon as we receive your application, we will check it to make sure you have sent us all your evidence. We will tell you if we need any further information. It is important you provide all the evidence as soon as possible, otherwise it will slow down your claim.
