ANPR parking system at Friary car park

The Friary Car Park.
A pay on exit system is in place at Friary car park.

The Friary multi storey car park in Lichfield City operates an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system. This means that your vehicle registration number will be captured when you drive in and out of the car park.

Rather than buy a ticket when you arrive, you will need to pay before you exit the car park, so there will be no ticket to display. A receipt for your records can be printed from the payment machines.

When paying at the machines you need to put your registration number into the machine, and the machine will calculate how long you have been in the car park. You can pay by credit/debit card (including contactless).

The system is set to allow for vehicles to pick up/drop off or find a space (you have a 10 minute limit). If you are longer than 10 minutes, you will need to pay for parking.

If you do not pay for parking, you will not be able to leave the car park as the barrier will not lift up.
