Our 2022 - 2023 dashboard

We have declared a climate and nature emergency and our Lichfield District 2050 strategy identifies green communities as a key priority.

Our carbon neutral dashboard shows our organisational carbon emissions, both by asset type (so for example our buildings and vehicles) and at which council site. It is updated every year.

Our dashboard helps us to measure our progress against our internal carbon reduction action plan which sets out our plan as a district council to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050

An overview of our emissions in 2022 - 2023

Our 2022 - 2023 dashboard shows that overall our carbon emissions increased in 2022 - 2023.

This is primarily because we took our leisure centres back in house and so started managing a larger number of buildings which is reflected in our increased building carbon emissions.

We are however pleased that along with the introduction of more electric and greener vehicles, our fleet carbon emissions decreased in 2022 - 2023.
