While the police work to directly tackle and prevent crime, we believe we can make our communities safer if we work together with residents and statutory and voluntary agencies to take responsibility for our local areas.
We lead the Lichfield District community safety partnership, which brings together key local organisations, including the police, fire and rescue, health services, probation, and the council, to deliver this.
The partnership was formed under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, and works to reduce crime, anti-social behaviour, and protect vulnerable individuals.
Within the council, we have a dedicated community safety team who support this work by responding to anti-social behaviour reports, coordinating partnership activity, leading on local safety campaigns, and delivering the community safety delivery plan.
The partnership aims to make our district a safe and welcoming place where individuals and communities take a sense of pride in where they live.
