Lichfield: proudly flying the Purple Flag

Lichfield has retained its prestigious Purple Flag accreditation for 2026, recognising the city’s safe, welcoming and thriving evening economy.

Whether you’re planning dinner with friends, cocktails in one of our independent bars, a night at the theatre or simply exploring somewhere new, Lichfield has plenty to offer.

Our Purple Flag status recognises not only the variety and quality of experiences available in the city, but also the work taking place to help everyone enjoy them safely.

Retaining Purple Flag is a collective achievement, made possible by the businesses, organisations and people who contribute to Lichfield’s evening economy, this includes:

• Local businesses and venues
• Lichfield District Council
• Police and community safety teams
• Transport providers
• Local organisations and partners

Together, we work year-round to make sure Lichfield remains a safe and enjoyable place to visit.
