Grace Cares for the over 70s

A street with quaint cottages running on either side with red, white and blue bunting strung between the cottage roofs.
Coronation street parties will take place across the district

Grace Cares offers people who are aged over 70 and living alone a regular and vital friendship link every month.

If you are interested, you will be collected from your home by a volunteer driver and taken to a volunteer host’s home for the afternoon to enjoy food, drink, and good company.

The group brings people together to develop fulfilling friendships and support networks while giving everyone involved something to look forward to each month.

Grace Cares also hosts a tea party group one Sunday a month.

Grace Cares: Over-70s Friendship Groups & Support for Unpaid Caregivers

At Grace Cares, we believe no one should feel alone in later life or while caring for others. That’s why we offer two ongoing community support initiatives across the district – one for older people living alone, and one for unpaid caregivers providing vital care at home.

Friendship Groups for Over-70s

Grace Cares offers people over 70 who live alone a regular and vital friendship link every month.

We host a Sunday tea party group once a month.

If you're interested, a volunteer driver will collect you from your home and take you to a local volunteer host for the afternoon. There, you'll enjoy food, drink and good company in a warm, welcoming environment.

The group helps build fulfilling friendships and support networks – giving everyone involved something to look forward to each month.

Support Sessions for Unpaid Caregivers

Grace Cares also supports unpaid caregivers – the family, friends and neighbours who care for others without formal pay or recognition.

We host bi-monthly support sessions to bring unpaid caregivers together in a relaxed and supportive environment. Whether you’re new to caregiving or have years of experience, these free sessions offer a chance to:

  • Connect with others in similar situations
  • Share experiences, advice and tips
  • Access signposting and guidance
  • Hear from expert guest speakers

The sessions are shaped by caregiver feedback and focus on emotional wellbeing, everyday challenges and shared solutions.

Spaces are free but limited – registration is essential. Visit this page on the Grace Cares website to register or stay informed.

If you want to volunteer or donate equipment or funds, the team is always happy to have a chat. Please contact us on 01543 730189 or hello@grace-cares.com
