Vote by proxy
Emergency proxy votes
The deadline for applying to vote by proxy is 5pm on the sixth working day before an election – which is 5pm on Tuesday 27 April 2021 for the polls taking place on Thursday 6 May 2021.
However, if you are taken ill or get unexpected work commitments after the deadline for applying for a proxy vote for an election which prevents you from attending the polling station on polling day, you can appoint someone to vote for you. You will need a doctor or employer to support your application.
This must be something that you weren't aware of before the normal proxy vote deadline.
You can download the following forms:
- You have a medical emergency
- You are away for work
- You are self-isolating due to COVID-19 - this form can also be used to change your nominated proxy if they are self-isolating
These applications can be made up to 5pm on polling day.
Completed applications must be sent to [email protected] and reach us before 5pm on Thursday 6 May 2021.
