Domestic abuse support

Housing advice

We can offer a range of advice and support if you are a victim of domestic abuse including:

If you don't want to leave your home

If you don't want to leave your home, but need security measures installed to make it safer for you to remain there, our target hardening scheme might be able to help. To find out more, email our housing options team at housing@lichfielddc.gov.uk

If you are homeless as a result of domestic violence

If you are a victim of domestic abuse you will be assessed as having priority need.

This is because it is not safe for you to continue to live in accommodation where you are at risk of domestic abuse or other violence.

You cannot also be viewed as becoming intentionally homeless if you leave your current home as a result of domestic abused.
