The Chair of Lichfield District Council has been appointed for 2025/6.

Councillor Keith Vernon is the new Chair of the authority. He has represented the Colton and the Ridwares ward since 2023. Cllr Vernon was proposed by Cllr Phil Whitehouse and seconded by Cllr Thomas Marshall.

Cllr Vernon will be supported during his year in office by his consort Gill Stockdale.

Cllr Vernon said:

“To be given the opportunity to serve as Chair of the district council is a great honour. I look forward to meeting people from across the district at functions throughout the year.”

The new Vice Chair is Councillor Thomas Marshall. Elected to Lichfield District Council in 2003 Cllr Marshall represents the Armitage with Handsacre ward. Cllr Marshall was proposed by Councillor Richard Cox and seconded by Cllr Jamie Checkland.
