Families are invited to enjoy a packed day of summer activities when Beacon Park Fun Day returns on Wednesday 5 August.
Running from 11am to 3.30pm, the popular event will bring together family entertainment, activities, local organisations and businesses for a fun-filled day in the park. Entry is free, there is no need to book, and both free and paid-for activities will be available.
The much-loved Teddy Bear Games will return, with races for children and adults throughout the event. Visitors are encouraged to bring their favourite teddy along to take part, although bears will also be available to borrow.
Families can also explore the Barefoot Walk, a sensory trail through the park featuring a variety of natural textures, as well as enjoy face painting, crafts, inflatables, toys, sweet treats and food.
A range of community organisations and emergency services will be attending with activities, advice and information, including Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, the RNLI, Midlands Air Ambulance, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Citizens Advice, St Giles Hospice, Everyone Health, Active Communities, the Lichfield District Community Safety Partnership and the Joint Waste Service.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy entertainment and activities from local businesses and attractions, including Charles Harris FunFair UK, Cannock Dairies, Matt Fiddes Martial Arts, Fusion Dance School, Liberty Jamboree, Andrew Pryce Toys Galore, Hazel Cakes, Anca’s Sweet Bakery, ASB Harmony and Aloha.
Councillor Phil Whitehouse, Cabinet Member for Operational Services, Parks and Waste, said:
“Beacon Park Fun Day has become one of the highlights of our summer events programme, bringing together families, local businesses, charities and community organisations for a fantastic experience.
“Admission is free and there is a mixture of free and paid for activities. There is no need to book a place so come along and join in on the day. We look forward to seeing you there.”
