Burntwood neighbourhood plan

Burntwood Town Council has submitted the Burntwood neighbourhood plan to Lichfield District Council.

The Burntwood neighbourhood plan outlines how the area could be shaped in the future and, if approved, it will provide a framework for potential development, which will form part of our local plan.

We are now holding a six-week consultation so local people and organisations can see the Burntwood neighbourhood plan and give their views. This is running until Friday 20 September 2019.

Following this, we will collate all the comments and pass them on to an independent examiner. The examiner will consider these along with the neighbourhood plan when assessing whether it meets national requirements and can proceed to the next stage of the process, which is a referendum within the neighbourhood area.

Councillor Iain Eadie, cabinet member for investment, economic growth & tourism, said:

“I am pleased that another community from Lichfield District has created a neighbourhood plan. It is a great way for local people to have a say over the future of Burntwood and we look forward to receiving comments about the plan.”
