Beacon Awards will put outstanding businesses and community heroes in the spotlight

The Beacon Awards are taking place at the National Memorial Arboretum.
175 nominations were made for the inaugural Beacon Awards.

Lichfield District Council’s inaugural Beacon Awards tomorrow will shine a light on some of the best businesses and most admired community heroes in the district.

The gala event, at the National Memorial Arboretum near Alrewas, is bringing together talented and committed people for a welcome celebration.

It will honour outstanding businesses in a variety of categories including Customer Service, Start-up Business of the Year, Independent Business of the Year, Tourism and Hospitality Business of the Year, Employer of the Year, Apprentice/Young Businessperson of the Year, Large and Small Businesses of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year.

There are also Community Awards recognising selfless people who go the extra mile to support and inspire others.

We received 175 award nominations and would like to thank everyone who made a submission. A big thank you also to our compere for the evening, Deputy Lieutenant of Staffordshire James Leavesley, our esteemed judges, and sponsors Pool House, Normans Bookkeeping and Payroll, Allen Brown, Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber of Commerce, The Style Hut and Blissful Yoga.

A spokesperson for Lichfield District Council said:

“There are many great businesses and wonderful community heroes in Lichfield District.

“These awards are an important opportunity to give some of them the recognition they so richly deserve.

“It is set to be fantastic evening and we are very much looking forward to welcoming attendees to the National Memorial Arboretum.”
