Christian Fields is a valued green space at the heart of the community - a place to walk, exercise dogs, play, meet and enjoy nature. With the new leisure centre nearby, there is an opportunity to better connect physical wellbeing, outdoor activity and the natural environment.
Together with Liberty Jamboree - a local organisation supporting children, young people and families, particularly those with additional needs - the Friends of Christian Fields, a group of dedicated local volunteers, and Lichfield City Council, we are working to develop a plan to enhance the quality, accessibility and facilities at Christian Fields and nearby green spaces, so that more people can enjoy, value and benefit from them - thank you to everyone who gave us their views on the plans so far which include:
- Improving the entrance and staircases
- Securing funding for further enhancements to support recreation, dog walking and outdoor learning for all ages and abilities.
We are now asking for your views again on plans to enhance Eastern Avenue open space, which creates a green corridoor between the leisure centre and Christian Fields - find out more and give your views by Sunday 14 June.
While not all funding is in place, a strong community-led strategy will help attract investment and deliver improvements over time.
We want to create a vibrant, accessible space that reflects local pride and supports nature.
Thank you to everyone who is getting involved - please keep checking back to see what we do as a result!
