To help Stowe Pool safe, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone, and to balance the needs of anglers, nearby residents and other park users, a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) is in place.
When you can fish
Fishing is allowed during daylight hours only, as follows:
- Summer (1 April to 30 September) - you must not fish between 9pm and 6.30am.
- Winter (1 October to 31 March) - you must not fish between 4.30pm and 7.30am.
If you are asked to leave
At any time, on any day, you must leave the area immediately if requested to do so by an authorised person, such as a council officer or police officer.
What happens if you do not comply?
Failing to follow the Public Space Protection Order is a criminal offence.
You may be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) or, if prosecuted and convicted by a court, fined up to £1,000.
Thank you for helping us keep these areas safe, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.
How to report an issue
We carry out patrols, however if you witness anyone breaching the rules of the PSPO, please:
- Take a record of the time, date, location and activities and any other information it is safe to gather.
- Report findings to pollution@lichfielddc.gov.uk
- If the occurrence is a regular issue we will aim to patrol at a similar time in order to address the issue
If you witness criminal behaviour, or ever feel threatened or in danger, always call 999.
