Local development scheme

Our local development scheme (LDS) sets out which local development documents will be produced, in what order and when, however please note that some of the timescales will change.

Our local development documents are the adopted local plan which is a development plan document (DPD) and our supplementary planning documents (SPDs). In additional there are a number of neighbourhood plans within the district which form part of the development plan for a local neighbourhood area.

The LDS acts as the starting point for the community and stakeholders to find out about the authority's planning policies in respect to a particular place or issue, and the status of those policies. It also outlines the details of and timetable for the production of all documents that make up the local plan over a three-year period.

The local development scheme was last updated in March 2024 and sets out the timetable for the production of the local development documents which will be produced over the next three year period (to March 2027).
