Lichfield City Centre Shopfront Design Code
Our Shopfront Design Code provides a clear and comprehensive set of guidelines to ensure that improvements to shopfronts across the area respect the character, history, and identity of our town centres, while delivering high-quality, attractive, and sustainable design. The code supports businesses and property owners in creating frontages that enhance the street scene, contribute to local distinctiveness, and encourage increased footfall and economic activity.
The Design Code was formally adopted as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) by Full Council on 19 May 2026 and will be used to guide decisions on shopfront improvements and related proposals.
