Heritage Shopfront Grant Scheme
Could your shopfront benefit from restoration or improvement?
Lichfield District Council’s £400,000 Heritage Shopfront Grant Scheme is offering grants of up to £30,000 towards eligible improvements to shopfronts within the Lichfield City Centre Conservation Area.
The scheme will help businesses and property owners restore historic features, improve the appearance and accessibility of their premises and contribute to a more attractive and welcoming city centre.
Expressions of Interest are now open. This is the first stage of the application process and you do not need detailed designs or full costings to get started.
About the scheme
The Heritage Shopfront Grant Scheme has been created to support high-quality improvements that celebrate Lichfield’s distinctive character and encourage continued investment in the city centre.
A total of £400,000 is available, with different levels of support depending on the nature and scale of the proposed work.
The scheme is competitive and discretionary. Funding is limited and submitting an Expression of Interest or full application does not guarantee that a grant will be awarded.
Expressions of Interest will be considered on a rolling basis until 31 March 2028, subject to funding remaining available.
Before applying, please read the Applicant Guidance to ensure your project is eligible and suitable for the scheme. If you would like to discuss an idea before applying, the Regeneration Team would be happy to help.
