How to apply
The Heritage Shopfront Grant Scheme has two stages.
Stage one: Express your interest
Complete a short form telling us:
- Which property is involved
- What you would like to improve
- How the work would benefit the shopfront
You do not need detailed designs or full costings at this stage. Please include photographs of the existing shopfront where possible.
We will check whether you, the property and the proposed work are eligible.
Stage two: Full application
If your proposal is eligible, we will invite you to submit a full application.
You will then need to provide detailed designs, quotations and supporting information. The Applicant Guidance explains everything you will need.
We will assess your application against the scheme criteria and the funding available. An invitation to submit a full application does not guarantee that you will receive a grant.
Before applying
Please read the Applicant Guidance and check that your property and proposed work are eligible.
Do not commission detailed designs, begin work, appoint contractors or commit to any costs unless the council has confirmed in writing that you can do so.
Expressions of Interest will be considered on a rolling basis until 31 March 2028, subject to funding remaining available.
