Our 2023 - 2024 dashboard
We have declared a climate and nature emergency and our Lichfield District 2050 strategy identifies green communities as a key priority.
Our carbon neutral dashboard shows our organisational carbon emissions, both by asset type (so for example our buildings and vehicles) and at which council site. It is updated every year.
Our dashboard helps us to measure our progress against our internal carbon reduction action plan which sets out our plan as a district council to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
An overview of our emissions in 2023 - 2024
Our dashboard shows that overall our carbon emissions increased in 2023 - 2024.
This is mainly due to 2024 being the first full year that our leisure centres were included, following the council taking responsiblity for them during the year.
Encouragingly, fleet emiisions continued to decrease compared to previous years, reflecting the introduction of more electric vehicles and improvements in driver efficiency.
