Littering and penalties
We want to encourage local people not to drop litter and help keep the district clean. We patrol the district and pay particular attention to hot spots where there have been littering problems in the past. We also rely on members of the public to report litter hot spots to us.
We also carry out enforcement action and issue fixed penalty notices to people we see littering or not cleaning up their waste.
Remember, if there is not a litter bin nearby, please take your litter home with you. The lack of a litter bin does is no excuse.
