Padel tennis courts - coming soon
We’re excited to be bringing three brand-new outdoor padel tennis courts, perfect for both novices and seasoned players and have appointed Midlands-based Fosse Contracts Limited to install the courts, marking the start of an exciting new phase in its work to transform the leisure attraction.
Padel tennis combines elements tennis and squash, played on smaller enclosed courts with glass walls that add an exciting dynamic to the game. It is one of the UK’s fastest-growing sports and is played in an enclosed court with stringless, perforated rackets. Easy to learn and highly sociable, Padel is usually played in doubles on a 10 by 20 metre court, using the same scoring system as tennis.
The courts offer a fast-paced, fun experience, with the added feature of rebounds off the walls keeping the action going.
The three new courts will be constructed on the north side of the golf course with work now underway.
Initially the three courts will be built first, with the services building developed at a later date.
Frequently asked questions
We're getting loads of questions, so we've put together some handy FAQs:

Q: How much will it cost?
A: The fees and charges are just being finalised and we’ll ensure they represent good value compared to other Padel facilities.
Q: Will sessions be available and what will the schedule look like?
A: Absolutely, they will be bookable via a new app, which will be launched before the courts open.

Q: Do I have to become a member?
A: No, the facilities will be available for public use.
Q How loud will noise be coming from them?
A: No noisier than a set of tennis courts and we have no noise issues with our courts on the other side of the park. That said, if we host competitions or championships from time to time, it may be noisier.
Q: Where are they going to be located?
A: Near the pedestrian entrance to Morrisons/Greenhough Road car park. The site is now fenced off.
Q: Where will players park during the busy periods in the park?
A: As with all park users, we will encourage visiting the park on foot or by bike, alternatively there are a variety of car parks serving Beacon Park.
