How much does it cost to become a councillor?
There is no deposit to pay to stand for election in district or parish elections - a deposit is only required at parliamentary and European elections.
It is up to you and your party to decide what you spend on your election campaign - these are called election expenses.

You, or your party, can spend money on your election campaign if you wish to.
These are known as election expenses, but please be advised that these are not reimbursable, as the name might otherwise imply.
There is also a maximum limit on how much you can legally spend on your election campaign.
