If you have a complaint about a licensed premise (pub, club, bar etc), you may want to raise it with the licence holder at the pub or venue in the first instance. Alternatively, you can ask your local MP or councillor to speak to the licence holder on your behalf. Talking directly to the venue can often be the quickest way to resolve an issue.

If you can’t do that, or it doesn’t resolve the situation, there are number of people you can contact to help you.

If you have a complaint about public nuisance, such as excessive noise, you can contact our environmental protection team at pollution@lichfielddc.gov.uk or complete our online form.

If you have a complaint about crime and disorder at a premises you can contact the local police on 111 or, of course, dial 999 in the case of an emergency.

If you want to tell us about an issue relating to licensable activities taking place at a premises please email us at licensing@lichfielddc.gov.uk with full details of the complaint.

Review of a premises licence

If you have tried the above and the issue is still not resolved, you can request a review of the licence.

A responsible body or any other person can apply for a review of current premises licence or club certificate if you feel that one or more of the licensing objectives are being undermined. These are:

  • prevention of crime and disorder
  • protection of public safety
  • prevention of public nuisance
  • protection of children from harm

We reserve the right to reject a request for review if we consider it to be frivolous, vexatious or repetitious.
