To make sure your council tax bill is correct, that you claim all you are entitled to, and don't end up having to pay anything back because you've claimed more than you should, please let us know of any changes that could affect your council tax bill, your council tax support or housing benefits.
Changes you need to tell us about in relation to your council tax bill include:
- If you move home.
- If you claim any discounts or exemptions on your bill, such as single person discout or disabled band reduction, and your circumstances change.
You will also need to let us know about changes in your circumstances if:
- You claim council tax support - if you claim Universal Credit, we receive automatic updates on your income, but you will need to tell us of other changes.
- You claim housing benefit, you will also need to let us know about any changes to your circumstances.
