We're currently experiencing an issue with the mapping feature on our Planning Public Access site. Our team is investigating, and we hope to restore normal service soon. Thank you for your patience.

Hot weather can be enjoyable, but it also brings risks - particularly for older people, young children and those with health conditions. Please check in on anyone who may need extra support. Avoid swimming in lakes, rivers or canals unless it’s part of a supervised activity, as open water can be dangerous. Barbecues are not allowed in parks or open spaces during hot weather due to the risk of fires.

Read our top tips on how to keep you and others safe.

With an extreme hot weather warning and temperatures forecast to reach 35 degrees on Thursday, to protect our staff and ensure that refuse, recycling and food waste collections can be completed before temperatures peak, we will be temporarily redeploying our garden waste crews to support these essential services.

This means if you are due to have your garden waste bin emptied on Thursday, please put it out on Saturday instead, or leave it out if it is already presented for collection - our crews will return empty it on Saturday. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Thank you also to everyone who has been putting their bins out early during the hot weather which is allowing our crews to start collecting from 5am - your continued support is helping our crews work safely during the hot weather and is greatly appreciated.
