We know many residents will have seen national news coverage about new food waste collections being introduced across the country that will help increase the amount of we recycle and reduce waste.

We were on track to launch our food waste service in March, with caddies ready and staff trained – we were just awaiting the delivery of our new specialist food waste vehicles. Although we placed our vehicle order nearly a year ago, our supplier experienced exceptionally high demand due to councils nationwide introducing food waste collections at the same time. This impacted delivery times and has meant we have had to delay the launch of our new service.

Once our vehicle delivery is confirmed, we’ll begin rolling out caddies and information to households ahead of the service starting. We’re hoping to launch in summer 2026.

We’ll continue to keep residents updated and share more details as soon as we can, as we know lots of residents are looking forward to getting started. Keep up to date.
