If you are facing the threat of homelessness, we can offer you support from our tenancy sustainment team.
Our tenancy sustainment team offers person-centred support to help people successfully maintain their tenancy and access to support services, guidance and advice - whether you are living in private rented or a social rented home.
Our aim is to help you to sustain your tenancy and prevent you from becoming homeless.
What our service offers
- Guidance on paying rent and managing household bills
- Support with budgeting and accessing welfare benefits
- Help with understanding your tenancy agreement and responsibilities
- Links to specialist services if you need extra support (for example, health, debt management, employment, or community services)
- Regular check-ins to make sure everything is running smoothly
How to access the service
If you, or someone you are supporting needs help from our tenancy sustainment team, please email details to tenancysustainment@lichfielddc.gov.uk - please include a name and telephone number, so we can get in touch.
Our duty officer will contact you/the person you are supporting as soon as possible - this may however not be the same day, and we do operate a waiting list if we have a lot of requests for help at any one time.
When we contact you we may ask you for further information to help us to give you the best possible support - we will also explain how we can help you and whether that will include offering ongoing support, or signposting you to other agencies who may be able to provide the help and support you need.
What to do if you are facing homelessness
If you are facing the threat of homelessness within the next 56 days, please make a homelessness application and we will refer you to the tenancy sustainment team if we feel it could support your circumstances.
You can also register for social housing.
