The Crisis and Resilience Fund crisis payments are managed by Staffordshire County Council and provide short-term financial support to people and families in need to:

  • help people quickly so that small money problems do not become big crises
  • help people cope better if something unexpected happens again
  • reduce the need for emergency support in the future
  • connect people to the right local support, such as advice services and community organisations

Help provided can include supermarket vouchers, fuel payments and funded holiday activities for children that includes food.

You cannot apply directly for a crisis payment - if you are in financial crisis and need support, we recommend you reach out to the Lichfield Family Hub who can make an application on your behalf.

Applying through a professional

You can ask a professional you are already working with to apply for you. This should be someone who knows you, your family, or your situation well.

A professional who can apply for you may include:

  • Staffordshire County Council staff, such as social workers or support workers
  • registered social landlords or housing providers
  • health services, including the NHS and Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT)
  • Citizens Advice
  • the Police
  • Lichfield Family Hub
  • staff at schools, colleges, and other education settings in Staffordshire
  • Support Staffordshire members
  • SCVYS members

If you are not working with a professional

If you think you may be eligible for a crisis payment but are not supported by a professional organisation, you can still get help and advice from a Financial Wellbeing Coach. To access support from a financial wellbeing coach, please complete the following form:

Sign up form

A wellbeing coach will:

  • Talk with you about your situation
  • Assess your needs
  • Help decide what support may be available
  • Assist with your application if you are eligible for support

You will receive a response from a coach within 7 working days of your request being received

For any support in completing the form, please contact StaffordshireCRF@staffordshire.gov.uk
