Direct Debit Collections
Direct debit collections are where pledges are collected for direct debit donations. This type of collection falls outside of the scope of the law and therefore no permit or licence is required.
However, in 2019 the Council signed a site management agreement with the Institute of Fundraising (IOF).
The agreement allows for a maximum of 5 fundraisers in the city centre on one day each week, either a Wednesday or a Thursday between 0900hrs and 1900hrs.
No more than 3 fundraisers may be in Zone 1 (Lower Bore Street between Conduit Street and Breadmarket Street) and no more than 3 in Zone 2 (Market Street between Breadmarket Street and Bird Street).
