Other ideas we are considering:
Creating a dog zone
We are considering whether Christian Fields could be a suitable location for a new dog zone, providing a safe, enclosed space for dogs to play off-lead. If taken forward, it could be designed with fencing that blends into the landscape and might include agility equipment, seating and waste facilities.
Introducing a beacon
As one of the highest points in Lichfield, we are considering working with a local artist to create a unique Beacon that could be lit during celebrations and special events, perhaps surrounded by a green labyrinth. This is still at an early stage and would require fundraising to make it possible.
Improving the boardwalk area
Over the years, we’ve tried several times to establish a pond in the boardwalk area, but it has consistently dried up. We are now exploring alternative options to enhance the space, such as creating a rain garden, with the aim of attracting more birds, amphibians and native plants, and supporting community learning opportunities.
