Before carrying out works to any trees, we recommend that you use our interactive mapping for protected trees, which allows you to find trees which are protected by tree preservation orders (TPOs), and trees within conservation areas.
- If the tree is protected by a tree preservation order (or TPO) - you will need to apply to us for permission
- If the tree is in a conservation area - you will need to notify us at least six weeks before you carry out the works
We recommend that you use a qualified tree surgeon for any tree works - a tree surgeon can also help you fill out the relevant application form.
