Lichfield District Council, as Local Planning Authority, hereby gives notice of its intention to commence a new Lichfield District Local Plan.
The new plan will be titled ‘The Lichfield District Local Plan 2046’ and will cover the administrative boundary of Lichfield District Council.

In order to comply with the Open Data Standards, both the plan dataset and timetable have been made available as .csv files (you will need Microsoft Excel installed to view these):
The timetable comes into effect from Tuesday 30 June 2026. In accordance with Regulation 6 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026, the Council will review the Local Plan timetable monthly from the date of publication and update it when changes are required.
The timetable is available for inspection at the District Council House in Lichfield during normal office hours (08:00 to 17:00, Mon to Fri)

The Council anticipates to start the 30 month plan preparation process (passing the Government’s ‘Gateway 1 assessment’) by Monday 30 November 2026
