Lichfield District Local Plan Scoping Consultation
Lichfield District Council is preparing a new Local Plan for the district which will cover the period from 2026 to 2046.
The first stage of the plan preparation process is to undertake a consultation on the scope of the new local plan in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026 – Part 4, Regulation 20.
We want to know your views on the following:
- Scoping Consultation document - what content to include in the new local plan.
- Draft Engagement Strategy – how we engage with you on the Local Plan.
The consultation will run for 4 weeks from 7th September 2026 to 5pm on 5th October 2026

You can choose to comment on the Scoping document, Draft Engagement Strategy or submit a site for consideration using the online form.
All submissions should be made online through the consultation portal. For those with accessibility needs, we do provide representation forms which can be printed and posted to the Council marking it for the attention of the planning policy team
