Subject access requests

The General Data Protection Regulation 2016 (GDPR)/Data Protection Act 2018 primarily deals with personal information we hold about you. It places a responsibility on us to manage the way we obtain, hold, use, disclose and dispose of personal data, which is outlined in the 6 principles of the regulation. Read our data protection policy to find out more.

Request access to your own personal information

A request for your personal information is known as a subject access request, and is generally free of charge.

To submit a subject access request, please read the subject access request application form carefully, fill it in and then email us your form, or post it to:

Head of Legal, Property & Democratic Services, District Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield, Staffordshire WS13 6YU

Please note: we will require you to supply appropriate identity so that we can be satisfied that we are responding to the correct person.

Once we are satisfied that the information supplied by you is sufficient and we have verified your identity, we will conduct a search of our systems for your personal information. We are required to provide you the information, subject to any exemptions, within one month, although on occasion this can be extended by a further two months.
