What are fixed penalty notices?
Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN) generally deal with offences such as littering, failing to remove dog mess, fly tipping and other waste offences.
They can be an effective and visible way of responding to environmental crimes and can provide a quicker and more proportionate alternative to prosecution through the courts.
Money raised through Fixed Penalty Notices helps us continue our work to keep the District clean and carry out further enforcement work. We are not allowed to use enforcement to generate revenue.
