Homelessness guidance and support

You don't have to be living on the street to be homeless.

You may be legally classed as homeless if you are sleeping on a friend's sofa, staying in a hostel, suffering from overcrowding or other bad conditions.

We have a legal responsibility to help homeless people and those at risk of homelessness. The first thing you should do if you think you may lose your home is to seek advice about your rights at an early stage.

This section provides useful help and advice, depending on your circumstances.

If you are homeless or worried about losing your home in the next 56 days, please find out about our homelessness service.
